Her er Antoni Gaudi som ung mann. Født i 1852, overkjørt av trikk og døde i1926. Klikk på bildet og dere kommer til en side (på Engelsk) som forteller det meste om ham.
Park Guell. Eusebi Guell var en meget rik forretningsmann, som engasjerte Gaudi til å lage et boligområde for rike folk. Ikke mange var interessert i husene, så bare to ble solgt. parken ble etterhvert gitt til Barcelona by.

Park Guell. Eusebi Guell, who was rich, rich, rich, asked Gaudi to build a park and an estate for rich people. Not so many liked Gaudi's style, so only two houses were sold. The park was later given to barcelona city. Click on one of the photos above to read more about the park.
Innenfor porten (bildene over) kommer man til en trapp videre inn i parken. Der finner man den berømte firfislen til Gaudi og en kunstig foss/fontene.
Inside the gates (the upper pictures) there are stairs leading further into the park. At the stairs you find an artifical waterfall/fountain where Gaudi's famous lizard is watching over the water.

Innenfor porten er det en kunstig hule hvor sjåfører kunne slappe av mens de ventet på sine rike "eiere".

Inside the gate there is a man-made cave where drivers could relax while waiting for their rich "owners".

Spasertur videre inn i parken. En flott vei murt opp av små stener.
A walk further into the park. A very strange road/bridge made of lots of small rocks.
Når man til slutt kommer opp, er det en stor, åpen plass med benker full av mosaikk rundt hele plassen.
When you finally get io ihe top, there's a big, open space surrounded by a loooong wavy bench filled with mosaic.
Under plassen er det en stor søylehall hvor det i dag er små konserter. Under denne er det et stort vannlager. Smarte Gaudi brukte søylene som oppsamlingsrør for regnvann.
Under the open area there is a big hall filled with columns. Under this, there is a big waterbasin. Gaudi, smart as he was, used the columns to collect the rainwater.
Disse talerkenene er pynt oppe i taket, mellom søylene.

Her er gamle Antonio. Han endte sine dager med å bli overkjørt av en trikk i 1926.
